Real Madrid have contacted people close to Riccardo Calafiori to explore a possible transfer, CaughtOffside reports. The Spanish club has made no offer for the Arsenal defender, and the report says Arsenal do not want to sell him.

According to CaughtOffside, Arsenal view the Italy international as central to their plans and would require a bid exceeding €100 million (£85 million) before entering negotiations. That valuation had deterred Madrid during the summer, the outlet reported.

Calafiori, 24, moved from Bologna to Arsenal in summer 2024 in a £37 million transfer. After injuries affected his opening two seasons with the club, he has started each of Arsenal’s seven Premier League games this season at left-back. He can also operate in central defense.

His contract lasts until June 2029, and he has not indicated that he wants to leave. Madrid intend to follow his progress while reviewing their defensive options for the longer term, according to the report.
