Smith-Njigba reaches 129 receiving yards as Seahawks take 10-0 halftime lead
Seattle held Kansas City to 92 total yards in the first half, while a missed 58-yard field goal left the Chiefs scoreless.

Seattle led Kansas City 10-0 at halftime on October 25, with Jaxon Smith-Njigba producing six receptions for 129 yards. His 28-yard touchdown catch late in the second quarter extended the Seahawks’ advantage.
The touchdown followed a Patrick Mahomes interception. With Nick Emmanwori pursuing him, Mahomes sent an inaccurate throw to the left that Seattle safety Ty Okada intercepted. Smith-Njigba then beat rookie cornerback Mansoor Delane for the scoring catch.
Kansas City struggled against Seattle’s defensive pressure. Mahomes completed 8-of-15 passes for 68 yards before halftime, and the Chiefs managed five first downs while going 0-of-4 on third down. Former Seattle running back Kenneth Walker gained 28 yards from nine carries.
The Seahawks accumulated 251 yards and 14 first downs, converting 7-of-9 third-down opportunities. But a late interception by Sam Darnold on second-and-goal gave Kansas City its only scoring opportunity of the half. The return reached Seattle’s 44, before Harrison Butker missed short on a 58-yard field goal attempt as the half ended.
According to the Associated Press’ Josh Dubow, Kansas City had lost 38 straight games, including postseason contests, after failing to score before halftime. Seattle was set to receive the kickoff to begin the second half.
