She then earned her Physician Assistant degree from Anne Arundel College and completed additional internships in plastic surgery with Dr. Michael P. Vincent and dermatology with Dr. Robert Weiss and Dr. Margaret Weiss in 2001. Laura has been part of the clinical research conducted under dermatologists Dr. David J. Goldberg and Dr. Ellen S. Marmur evaluating cosmeceuticals, neurotoxins, fillers, and lasers that are used in dermatology today. Laura has been an educational speaker for Allergan Pharmaceuticals and has collaborated with focus groups for Galderma and Allergan Pharmaceuticals for dermatological medications.
She is certified through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), which is the only certifying organization for PAs in the United States. She maintains fellowship status with the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA), the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (SDPA), and the Florida Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (FSDPA). Laura can examine patients, prescribe medicine, and order diagnostic tests. In most cases, physician assistants work under the supervision of physicians, but they can work more independently, consulting with physicians only when they need help with cases.
