Guimaraes says Arteta is still shaping his midfield partnership with Rice
The Brazilian played a deeper role against Bayern Munich, while Rice pushed forward and scored a late equalizer in the 2-2 draw.

Bruno Guimaraes said Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is still determining how best to combine him with Declan Rice after the team's 2-2 Champions League draw at Bayern Munich. The midfielder said both players could fill several positions, with their respective responsibilities still being developed.
At the Allianz Arena, Guimaraes took on a more defensive assignment while Rice operated further forward, the Brazilian told reporters after the game. He also credited Rice with helping him adjust since joining Arsenal.
Rice scored the late goal that brought Arsenal level after they had fallen 2-1 behind. Eberechi Eze had put the visitors ahead from a Martin Odegaard pass. Guimaraes praised Odegaard's distribution and said he enjoyed playing alongside both midfielders.
The Bayern match marked Guimaraes' third successive start. The 28-year-old joined from Newcastle United in August for £75 million but missed Arsenal's preseason preparations and initially found it difficult to secure a regular starting place.
Arsenal recorded 54% possession, with Rice completing 69 passes and Odegaard 63. Odegaard created three chances, while Guimaraes was substituted after 69 minutes. Arsenal next face Everton at the Emirates Stadium.
