Jaylen Warren is expected to remain central to Pittsburgh’s offense when the Steelers face the New Orleans Saints at the Stade de France in Paris, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler. His role is not expected to diminish significantly even if fellow running back Rico Dowdle is available.

Dowdle returned from a toe injury for Pittsburgh’s Oct. 18 game. He is now listed as questionable for the Saints matchup because of a knee injury. The Steelers enter the contest with a 4-2 record.

Fowler reported that Pittsburgh wants to share the workload between the two backs over the season, while favoring Warren. He described Dowdle’s more physical running as a complement to Warren’s burst.

Warren also has strong support among teammates, according to Fowler. The reporter cited tight end Pat Freiermuth’s positive assessment of what happens when Warren gets possession and said the running back should continue receiving plenty of opportunities.
