Rams plan kicker tryouts for Brandon McManus and Matt Prater
Blake Grupe has been placed on injured reserve after a knee injury in his first game with the Rams.

The Rams plan to evaluate veteran kickers Brandon McManus and Matt Prater in a workout, NFL Media’s Mike Garafolo reported, after a knee injury sidelined Blake Grupe.
Grupe was placed on injured reserve following the Rams’ loss to the Cardinals, during which he hurt his knee. The appearance was his first for the team, which had already changed kickers earlier in the season.
Harrison Mevis began the season in the role. The Rams released him after Week 5, when he missed a field-goal attempt and had a separate attempt blocked.
McManus made 44-of-51 field-goal attempts across 25 appearances for the Packers over the past two seasons. His career began with nine seasons in Denver, followed by a stint with the Jaguars in 2023.
Prater has played 19 NFL seasons and was Buffalo’s kicker. He converted 18-of-20 regular-season field-goal attempts, a tally that included his 82nd career field goal from at least 50 yards. He holds the NFL record for field goals from that range.
