Texans defensive end Will Anderson praised Justin Herbert ahead of Houston’s game against the Chargers, saying the quarterback remains a difficult opponent despite Los Angeles’ winless start to 2026.

Speaking to reporters in remarks recorded in a team transcript, Anderson highlighted Herbert’s size, arm strength and mobility. He said the Texans respect Herbert’s ability to complete deep throws and make plays as a runner.

Anderson also praised the Chargers’ offensive line and described their running backs as threats both inside and outside. He said Chargers offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel had experience coaching against the defense while in San Francisco, giving Houston some familiarity with what it could face.

The Chargers fell to 0-7 with a loss to the Rams. Herbert has a completion rate of 61.8 percent in 2026, with 1,398 passing yards, five touchdowns and 10 interceptions, the most in the league.
