Ben Johnson highlights Drake Maye's passing and running threat
The Bears coach will face the Patriots quarterback for the first time, with New England coming off three consecutive victories.

Bears coach Ben Johnson identified Drake Maye’s ability to throw deep and gain yards on the ground as a difficult combination to defend ahead of Chicago’s game against the Patriots. The matchup will be Johnson’s first coaching against Maye.
Speaking at a press conference, Johnson said New England’s offense had gained momentum over its last three games, producing big plays and scoring heavily during a three-game winning streak. He also credited Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels with adapting to personnel limitations, including absences on the offensive line.
Maye’s recent performances have followed a difficult opening to the season. Against Las Vegas in Week 5, he passed for 374 yards and four touchdowns. He followed that with 235 passing yards and three touchdowns in the victory over the Jets.
For the season, Maye has a completion rate of 63.9 percent, with 1,463 passing yards, 11 touchdowns and seven interceptions. On the ground, he has added 185 yards and a touchdown.
