Jalen Brooks’ season ends as Cardinals move receiver to injured reserve
The receiver said he underwent emergency wrist surgery after playing the final three quarters of a game with a dislocation.

The Cardinals have ended wide receiver Jalen Brooks’ season by placing him on injured reserve, the team announced. Brooks disclosed on social media that he underwent emergency wrist surgery after dislocating the wrist during a game.
Brooks continued playing through the final three quarters despite the dislocation. The 26-year-old recorded a 35-yard reception while playing 64 percent of the Cardinals’ offensive snaps. His season ended with five catches for 81 yards.
Coach Mike LaFleur said Brooks had not alerted anyone to the injury. In remarks reported by Darren Urban of the team website, LaFleur said a later review of the footage showed the receiver occasionally attending to his wrist. He also praised Brooks’ toughness.
No corresponding roster transaction was announced. Separately, the Cardinals said offensive lineman Austin Deculus and safety Wydett Williams Jr. had re-signed with the practice squad. The team released safety Jerrick Reed II from that squad.
