Kyren Williams points to playing time as Rams offense struggles
The Rams fell to 2-4 after an 18-16 loss to the Cardinals, with Williams and Blake Corum finishing with similar touch totals.

Rams running back Kyren Williams suggested his absence from the field could explain the offense’s uneven performances after an 18-16 home defeat against the Cardinals left the team at 2-4.
Asked about the offense’s inconsistency between drives through six weeks, Williams pointed to his playing time, according to comments reported by Adam Grosbard of the Orange County Register. But when asked whether he wanted a bigger workload, Williams said that decision was not his to make.
Williams played 42 snaps against the Cardinals, compared with 16 for Blake Corum. Their touches were closer: Williams had 13 and Corum had 11. Williams had been on the field for 70 percent of snaps through five games. His workload remains comparable to last season but below its 2024 peak, and his carries are at their lowest level since he became a starter.
Williams also emphasized maintaining energy and celebrating successful plays. He said that support should extend across the offense, defense and special teams, with players drawing on one another to help the Rams reach their goals.
